Gilbert S. Goshorn Jr.
 Judge Gilbert S. Goshorn, Jr., known to his friends as "Gil" left this life on October 26, 2011. Gil was born November 14, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois.
Gil traveled with his Father, Gilbert and Mother for 3 years while his Father was with the FBI before moving to Florida. He lived up and down the east coast of Florida and graduated from Palm Beach High in 1952. He attended the University of Florida where he was awarded degrees in Business Administration and Law. While at the University he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Florida Blue Key. He was elected to the U of F Hall of Fame.
Upon graduation he began the practice of law in Jacksonville, Fl and in 1962 he moved to Titusville, Fl where he started his own law firm serving several years as Brevard County Attorney. In 1980 he was elected Circuit Judge and in 1989 appointed to serve as a Judge of the Fifth District Court of Appeal, serving a term as Chief Judge in each court. In 1999 he retired, moving to Gainesville to be with his beloved Gators.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda, his daughter Kathryn Babcock and son Bruce Goshorn, six grand children and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lynn Hutchinson.
The family will receive friends at a memorial celebration of life to be held at 2pm Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Baughman Center, 982 Museum Road, Gainesville, FL 32611. Reverend Dawn Conti, Kanapaha Presbyterian Church officiating.
